Welcome to the Barrie Central Library!

books.jpgBarrie Central has a fantastic library!   Our library/learning commons is your space to work, study, read, do research, and spend time with your classes. We have a large computer lab, iPads and a green screen, e-readers, a Smart Board, and a colour printer/photocopier.  Of course, we also have thousands of fiction and non-fiction books, including the newest teen fiction.  We'd love to help you find the perfect book to read for fun or for your English ISU.  All library materials, including e-books, can be borrowed for a two week period.  Please let Ms. Lapenskie or Ms. Kell know if you need any help with assignments or finding any kind of resource.

Our library is also home to the Student Success Program (upstairs). As well, it is a regular meeting place for many student groups and clubs; it's also a great place to hold special events. A few times every year, Central's Library is host to Library Unplugged, an informal talent show. Students from all grades have a chance to perform for the school.

BCC Book Club

Everyone is welcome to join the BCC Book Club! Thanks to all students who came to the meetings last year to discuss a great variety of titles, from classics to the latest YA fiction. We'll be meeting early in November to discuss Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld.
